Amidated GnRH/LHRH decapeptide (acetate salt) reference standard
Overview
Gonadorelin Acetate is the acetate salt of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH/LHRH), a C-terminally amidated linear decapeptide of the hypothalamic-releasing-hormone class with the sequence pGlu-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-Gly-Leu-Arg-Pro-Gly-NH2. As the native releasing factor for the pituitary gonadotropins, it is the parent decapeptide from which the long-acting agonist and antagonist analogs are derived. Distinct salt forms of this molecule previously held human FDA approvals, gonadorelin acetate as Lutrepulse for pulsatile ovulation-induction and hypothalamic-amenorrhea use, and gonadorelin hydrochloride as Factrel for pituitary-function diagnostics, both since discontinued in their human formulations, with a veterinary Factrel product for cattle still marketed. Lyochem supplies Gonadorelin Acetate as a lyophilized reference standard at >=99.0% HPLC, presented as a white to off-white cake. Each lot is assayed for purity by RP-HPLC and confirmed for identity by ESI-MS against the free-base mass of 1182.3 g/mol (C55H75N17O13), with the pGlu-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-Gly-Leu-Arg-Pro-Gly-NH2 sequence and the C-terminal amide verifiable by LC-MS/MS peptide mapping. CAS 34973-08-5.
Applications & buyer fit
Academic Laboratories
Universities, medical schools, and government research institutes qualifying a reference standard for a method-development or in vivo workflow.
Biotech R&D Groups
Preclinical biotech and pharmaceutical discovery teams sourcing characterized peptides for receptor-pharmacology, screening, and method-development campaigns.
Every release ships with its own batch-specific CoA — identity, purity, and the analytical scope agreed at quote stage, tied to the exact lot you receive.
Review a representative batch CoA before you order, so you can confirm the packet matches what your method or sponsor audit needs.
Supplied strictly as a research reagent to research institutions — not a finished dosage form and not for human administration. Buyer qualification runs at the inquiry stage.

Frequently asked questions
Both terminal modifications shift the intact mass and the fragment pattern, so ESI-MS against the 1182.3 g/mol free base plus LC-MS/MS peptide mapping resolve them directly: the amidation and the pGlu cyclization are distinguishable from a free-acid or unmodified sequence in the fragment ladder, giving positive identity beyond an HPLC retention match.
This is the acetate salt, and the COA reports the RP-HPLC purity and the ESI-MS identity referenced to the free-base formula C55H75N17O13. Knowing the counter-ion and the free-base basis matters when a lab calculates net peptide for gravimetric standard preparation.
