GLP-1 agonist Fc-fusion protein; ~59.7 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer
Overview
Dulaglutide (Trulicity) is a long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist engineered by Eli Lilly as a fusion protein. Its first FDA clearance, in September 2014, covered glycemic control in type 2 diabetes; a second, in February 2020, addressed cardiovascular risk, specifically the reduction of major adverse cardiovascular events where type 2 diabetes coincides with established cardiovascular disease or a cluster of risk factors. Architecturally it comprises two identical disulfide-linked chains; within each chain a DPP-4-resistant human GLP-1 analog fragment is covalently joined through a synthetic peptide linker to a human IgG4 Fc fragment, a layout that lengthens half-life and supports once-weekly administration. Lyochem supplies Dulaglutide as a lyophilized reference standard, characterized as a folded ~59.7 kDa protein rather than a linear peptide. Identity and purity are established by SEC and RP-HPLC for aggregate and main-species content, reduced/non-reduced SDS-PAGE to confirm the disulfide-linked homodimer and chain mass, and ESI/LC-MS mass characterization; residual water content is documented per lot so the certified quantity reflects net protein.
Applications & buyer fit
GLP-1 and metabolic-peptide buyers run incretin-pathway, body-composition, glucose-regulation, and energy-expenditure studies. Because the receptor pharmacology is sequence-sensitive, qualifying a new source means confirming identity within 0.5 Da of theoretical by ESI-MS, sequence verification by tandem MS on the first lot, and lot-to-lot consistency for reproducible metabolic research. Lyochem supplies this class reference-grade and mg-scale — distinct from compounding-grade (g/kg) API supply.
Academic Laboratories
Universities, medical schools, and government research institutes qualifying a reference standard for a method-development or in vivo workflow.
Biotech R&D Groups
Preclinical biotech and pharmaceutical discovery teams sourcing characterized peptides for receptor-pharmacology, screening, and method-development campaigns.
Every release ships with its own batch-specific CoA — identity, purity, and the analytical scope agreed at quote stage, tied to the exact lot you receive.
Review a representative batch CoA before you order, so you can confirm the packet matches what your method or sponsor audit needs.
Supplied strictly as a research reagent to research institutions — not a finished dosage form and not for human administration. Buyer qualification runs at the inquiry stage.

Frequently asked questions
At roughly 59.7 kDa with interchain disulfides and an IgG4 Fc domain, dulaglutide is a folded homodimeric protein, so higher-order integrity matters. SEC quantifies monomer versus aggregate, reduced and non-reduced SDS-PAGE confirm the expected chain mass and the disulfide-linked dimer, and RP-HPLC with mass characterization covers main-species purity and identity.
As a folded protein it is sensitive to denaturation, so reconstitute gently without vigorous mixing or foaming, keep the cold chain, and limit freeze-thaw. We document water content to support accurate concentration, and re-checking by SEC before a quantitative run confirms no aggregation has developed during storage.
